I woul love to have this happen but how about we fix the console version first Bethesda (particularly PS3) before we see mods on consoles. Skyrim PC mods as DLC on PS3/Xbox 360 It's well known that the PC version of Skyrim has a few benefits, which include thecommand consoleto unlock extras and also the creation of mods that give Skyrim PC players a new lease of life after playing for many months, or getting stuck on certain quests. Not all Skyrim PC players take advantage of these extras, although it's nice to have them there, which is something Xbox 360 and PS3 players do not have the luxury of. Would you like mods on the console version of Skyrim? We've seen a few interesting Skyrim Mods since the games release, and some you may know include modifying the game so you can killchildren, texture enhancements,Kinect innovationand the ability to take all clothes off NPCs.
If you have a mod you love using, feel free to share details in the comments and what makes it so great. While we're sure that many Skyrim players would rather Bethesda focus on perfecting the game, especially PS3 owners, some console owners would welcome the addition of mods, although how could this be added? One option that could work would be DLC, which means less red tape and content that could be free or charged for to enhance the game. This might not be as fun considering it's free already on PCs, although we'd gladly pay for a really good texture improvement or some of the other mods we've seen. Issues arise at how these mods were created in the first place, and if they create additional problems with Skyrim once downloaded and installed. The PS3 and Xbox 360 have more limitations than newer personal computers, especially when you consider the age of console hardware, which could mean certain mods would cause more damage than good. Skyrim PS3/Xbox 360 owners: Would you prefer mods as DLC or Bethesda to focus on current game issues?
Aug 23, 2018 - You can install and play an Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition mod by following the process below: Launch The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Back in April of this year the gaming community had a glimpse of what could be possible for mods and game consoles, withTodd Howard explainingthat content made in the Creation Kit will work on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Skyrim. While they've talked with Sony and Microsoft about this possibility, there hasn't been an option created right now but the opportunity is there, which could be taken up with DLC in the near future.
Fix any issues for consoles, and look at just giving mods to the consolites (Mods happen all the time, look at LBP2, Infamous 2 for example). I do recall free DLC for Portal 2 on Consoles, however L4D PC FREE DLC was charged for 360 gamers. I wouldn't pay for free mods on a console though, that's just me. I know with Portal 2, Sony allowed Valve to include Steamworks, cross Platform PC/PS3 play, and gave PS3 gamers a PC DD copy of Portal 2. Then there was EPIC's Unreal Tournament III PS3 version which allowed mods for PS3. I remember that well because in SW, people in SW were posting up pictures of Samus on PS3 for ownage, lol.
As far as Elder Scrolls 5 and Bethesda's PC history, mods aren't shocking at all. In fact, it would have been surprising if there were NO MODS for Elder Scrolls 5 PC, so I'm not sure what part of this is newsworthy.:P This is the 5th game in the series, not really anythiing new happening on that front.
Mods. That's the nature of the beast, and why people should consider buying their ES games on PC if possible, not to mention the possible graphics boost, assuming they have a decent videocard. QUOTE='vtoshkatur' Sadly, Microsoft and Sony would never allow this. SPYDER0416 Except for the fact that Sony has already allowed it, and continues to support user created content in its own games (such as in LittleBigPlanet and inFamous 2). User made content in LBP2 is not the same as a mod.
They gave you a set things you can make with LBP, With mods you can make just about anything. Changing the very nature of the game. Altering the code of the game even complete overhauls. Do I need to point out the Star Wars COD4 mod? QUOTE='SPYDER0416' QUOTE='vtoshkatur' Sadly, Microsoft and Sony would never allow this.

Altering the code of the game even complete overhauls. Do I need to point out the Star Wars COD4 mod? Except you are ignoring the Unreal Tournament 3 mods on PS3. Those weren't created content, they were mods, and when I mentioned user created content, it was to show that Sony is open to it. Plus I think its a bit ignorant to ignore the insane creations the user tools in a game like LBP2 have had and say they aren't on the level of some modern mods (need I mention the full on FPS level LBP2 had?). Mods are basically just harder to make user creation tools that some games allow, sure you 'could' make potentially anything, but its still the same game. The Star Wars mod for CoD4 is just CoD4 with a Star Wars skin, not exactly changing the fundamentals of the whole game.

And even though mods are far harder to create (I wouldn't even know where to start) They allow more customization. I think Sony would be much more open to this. Also remember that Sony allowed cross-platform play with PC with Portal 2 and Steamworks. I don't see the connection. It's not like files are being altered. QUOTE='SPYDER0416' QUOTE='vtoshkatur' Sadly, Microsoft and Sony would never allow this. Lol which is nothing like a mod more like predefined scripts a user can choose from please dont act like the content we have seen on lbp or infamous 2 were these huge mods they were simplistic creations using game assets with the most limited of changes. Hell the ut3 stuff was so limited in what you could actually do it was mostly characters and maps with no real modification like we see on the pc. If we saw modification like this it would be the simplist offered on pc graphic overhaul mods would crush both the ps3 and 360 in terms of preformance if they worked at all.
